Report: Sixers expected suitor for Bulls' Zach LaVine, will be patient

The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to be active leading into the Feb. 8 trade deadline. President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey is armed with assets after the big James Harden deal on Halloween and he is expected to look for upgrades to Philadelphia’s roster. There are a couple of names on the market that make a lot of sense for Philadelphia. Names such as OG Anunoby and Alex Caruso would be perfect fits for this Sixers team as they move forward. There is another name that has popped up per The Athletic: Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine. The Athletic reports: The Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers are expected suitors for LaVine, but both are operating from positions of patience and due diligence. LaVine is a very good player. An All-Star guard, he’s averaging 21.0 points and 4.9 rebounds for Chicago in the 2023-24 season. However, when considering his subpar defense, he doesn’t make a lot of sense for Philadelphia. The Sixers don’t need offense at the moment. They’re second in the league in offensive rating. They have slid to 15th in defensive rating and LaVine wouldn’t exactly help in that department. If the Sixers are to make a big move at the deadline, somebody lie Caruso or Anunoby makes more sense for them.
