Seven-year MLB veteran and one-time Dodgers catcher Tony Wolters has officially announced his retirement from Major League Baseball. The 31-year-old took to Instagram to make the announcement. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tony Wolters (@tonywolters) Wolters was drafted by Cleveland in the third round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He began his MLB career in 2016 with the Colorado Rockies, and spent the first five years of his career at Coors Field. He then spent the 2021 season with the Chicago Cubs before joining the Dodgers on a minor league deal that season. He spent the rest of the season in Oklahoma City, and only appeared in two games with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. He spent the rest of the 2022 season in OKC. In 2023, Wolters was in Triple-A in the Minnesota Twins’ organization, and had a .729 OPS in 57 games. Wolters finished his career with a .235 batting average, seven home runs and 123 runs batted in. He appeared in 407 games.
