Dodgers News: Tyler Glasnow Listed as Player with Something to Prove in 2024 by MLB

Image One of the larger moves that the Dodgers front office has made this offseason was trading for starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow is one of the better pitchers in the game today, but the move to acquire him has seemingly fallen under the radar due to the other moves that L.A. made. However, Glasnow could have one of the most impactful seasons for the Dodgers next year. His stuff is electric on the mound, and he has the ability to mow down lineups with ease. But the knock on him has always been his inability to stay healthy. The Dodgers are far too familiar with pitchers getting injured, but they are hoping for a clean bill of health for their new starter. The front office has spoken about their lack of concern for Glasnow, but his track record is a little concerning. MLB.com’s Brian Murphy listed Glasnow as a player around the game with something to prove next season. “The only question surrounding the oft-injured Glasnow is: Can he push past the career-high 120 innings he threw last season? No team is making a bigger effort to win the World Series than the Dodgers, but their rotation has enough uncertainty as is. That includes Yamamoto’s clean slate, Shohei Ohtani’s unavailability and Walker Buehler’s return from Tommy John, to name a few concerns. The last thing they need is for Glasnow to break down again. His health will be key to the club’s championship hopes.” Per Brian Murphy of MLB.com The most amount of MLB innings that he has pitched in a season is 120, which he threw last year with the Tampa Bay Rays. Now, Glasnow has to prove that he can stay healthy and can make a direct impact on this team that has World Series aspirations. If Glasnow can keep himself available this coming season, the Dodgers will have gotten a steal in the trade for him. Alongside Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Glasnow gives L.A. a lethal front two at the top of the starting rotation. The Dodgers are banking on a big season from their new ace, and he will be vital in their pursuit of another title. The pressure is on Glasnow this coming season, and the hometown kid will surely want to show out for the city of Los Angeles.
